Hair Care
Perhaps not necessary for everyone, but conditioner will help your hair by eliminating static electricity, strengthen it when styling, and keep it healthy and shiny. If you color your hair, or spend a lot of time in harsh environments (sun, wind, chlorine, etc.) you will want to condition your hair regularly.

Hair Care
Not necessarily. When your hair is colored properly by a trained stylist or colorist, your hair can give the appearance of greater health and shine than it did before you entered the salon. Coloring your hair can also give you an emotional and psychological boost that will help with your self-esteem and with how you are perceived in the workplace.
Many home coloring kits can do untold damage to your hair, especially when used incorrectly, too frequently, or when trying to change the color of your hair by more than two shades.
A skilled colorist can do a lot to rectify these mistakes, but even they have limits if you have over-dyed your hair with an at home kit. When considering a color change, always seek the advise of a trained colorist. They will help you to match color to your skin tone, making your color choice look very natural and no one the wiser that you are coloring your hair, unless of course, you are looking for a vibrant change1

While this myth has been around for a very long time the answer is NO. Cutting your hair does not make it grow faster or longer.
However, what it does do is it cuts off the dry, damaged and split ends that make your hair appear thin and lifeless. Freshly cut hair will give the appearance of thick, healthy hair. For some people, this is the only way to get their hair to grow longer because their hair may be especially prone to splitting and breakage.
If you routinely wear hair clips or pull your hair back into pony tails you are damaging your hair, and the only way to eliminate this damage is to cut off the damaged portions and to try and treat your hair as gently as possible in the future.

Tips
In this tough economy we are all looking for ways to keep us looking our best while making our dollars stretch further than ever. Here are some great ideas that can help to extend the time between your highlighting visits to your stylist.

A Superfine Weave: The thicker and chunkier your highlights are the more obvious your regrowth will be. Spending a little longer in the chair getting a superfine weave that leaves you looking naturally sun kissed is worth it because the regrowth looks more natural. For extra time between visits ask your stylist not to put each foil directly on the scalp, staggering the line a bit can give you even more time between visits and allows for an even more natural look growing out.
Gorgeous Face Framing Highlights: Lightening your hair just around the face keeps your highlights looking subtle and natural. This can extend your color budget significantly as it can often be done in 10 foils or less.
Tone on Tone / Dimensional Color: Not straying drastically from your natural color and just adding some subtle dimension to enhance your color is a great idea if you are looking for the best value for your dollar. When added to either of the above options you can often go 4 months between color touch ups!

Here is Jesse.
He is graduating from UCR and headed off to UCLA to work towards his dream of becoming a screen writer. He was ready for a pretty big change. He came in with gorgeous hair to the middle of his back. He literally took off about 12 inches of hair and left looking sexy and ready for Los Angeles!!!

Sometimes you really do just need to go for a big change!

Most of us would like to think we are both warm and cool. But when it comes to hair colour or your make up, it’s important to know which one you really are.
Here are the basics…
You are warm if your skin has a golden, olive or apricot cast, you tan well and don’t burn easily. You tend to have eyes that are darker (amber, dark brown, and hazel). In natural light the veins in your inner wrist will appear green. You look healthy and alive while wearing earthy colours, such as, oranges, bronzes, peaches, earthy greens, mocha browns and ivory.
You are cool if your skin has is fairer with a pink-y undertone. You tend to burn before you tan. Your eyes are generally blue, green or deep brown. In natural light the veins in your inner wrist will appear blue. You look best in jewel tones such as vibrant emerald green, royal and icy blues, rosy pinks, silvers, plums and pure white.
